Music planning

The music plan, in the couple’s own words

A DJ’s job is a timeline and a playlist. Booksui gives the couple a music planner for the moments that matter — entrance, first dance, parent dances, cake, last song — their must-plays and, just as important, their do-not-plays, with pronunciations for every name you will announce.

The moments, in order

The planner walks the couple through the moments of their reception and asks for the song for each, so the first dance and the last song are decided before the planning meeting, not during it.

Must-play and do-not-play

Two lists, kept apart: what they want to hear and what nobody may play. The second is the one guests remember when it is ignored.

Names said right

Every name you will announce has a field for how it is pronounced, because a wrong name in front of the room is the one thing that cannot be fixed on the night.

On the job for the night

What the couple fill in lands on the job beside the music-planning checklist and the timeline, so the plan you play from is the plan they approved.

How it works

  1. 1Send the music planner from the job when the music planning phase starts.
  2. 2The couple fill it in on their phone, in as many sittings as they need.
  3. 3Walk through it together at the planning meeting.
  4. 4Play from the approved plan on the night.

Questions

Does the couple need an account?
No. They open the link you send and fill it in.
Can I change the moments it asks about?
Yes: the moments follow your planning checklist, which you edit.
