Booksui vs DJ Event Planner
A Booksui alternative to DJ Event Planner
DJ Event Planner is DJ software through and through, with clients planning their music online. Booksui is a wedding business CRM that speaks DJ: a pipeline from inquiry and consultation through music planning, final details and event day, a Wedding DJ & MC proposal and agreement installed, and an inbox where the couple’s requests sit beside the event.
DJ Event Planner is known for business software built for mobile DJ companies, solo or multi-DJ — bookings, contracts and invoices, with online planning forms where clients choose their music and fill in the night. The table below sets Booksui’s own features next to that, in plain terms.
| Topic | Booksui | DJ Event Planner |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | Wedding DJs, photographers, videographers and planners alike, each with their own pipeline. A DJ’s runs inquiry → consultation → proposal → booked → music planning → final details → event day. | Mobile DJ businesses, from solo DJs to multi-DJ companies. |
| Music planning | A Music Planning Questionnaire the couple fills in — announcements and name pronunciations, ceremony audio, entrances, formal dances, the songs that matter and the ones that must not play — and a music-planning phase whose checklist covers clean edits and the running order with the planner. There is no song-by-song request list. | Its specialty: online planning forms where clients pick songs and fill in the details of the night. |
| Contracts and proposals | A Wedding DJ & MC Proposal and Agreement are installed, with a Lighting & Production Addendum. The performance window and overtime terms are stated up front, and the couple signs on their phone. | Contracts and invoices built for DJ bookings. |
| The inquiry | A shared inbox where a website inquiry, its email replies and private team notes sit on one thread next to the event details, and replies to what you send come back to the same conversation. | Inquiry forms that feed the event record. |
| Getting paid | Invoices with a dated payment schedule and a reminder for each payment. Clients pay the way you accept — bank transfer, Venmo, Zelle, cash — and tell you on the pay page when they have; you confirm it. | Check their current payment options. |
| Price | Starter is free with no card (3 galleries, 1 booking page, 10 active inquiries). Pro $29/mo, Studio $59/mo, Agency $99/mo. 30-day refund on your first paid month. | Set by DJ Event Planner and changed by DJ Event Planner; their current pricing page is the only honest source, so this page does not quote it. |
Who switches, and why
- Wedding DJs who mostly need the business side — inquiry, proposal, contract, invoice — done well, in a tool shaped around weddings.
- DJs who work beside photographers, videographers and planners and want a CRM those trades use too, each in its own pipeline.
- Anyone who wants an inquiry answered from an inbox with the date and venue beside the reply.
What you keep
- Your clients — the contact list comes across by CSV.
- Your packages, performance hours and overtime rate, entered once on the price sheet.
- Your planning meeting: it is a phase with its own checklist and client message.
What changes
- Couples answer the Music Planning Questionnaire rather than picking songs one by one from a list.
- Each booking moves through DJ phases, and each lands its checklist on the job — the certificate of insurance sent to the venue, load-in and power confirmed in writing, a backup playlist packed.
- Your planning forms become questionnaires you edit question by question.
How the move happens
- 1Export your client contacts from DJ Event Planner as a CSV. If your account has no export, a spreadsheet of names and emails imports the same way.
- 2In Booksui, Import → Upload CSV; check the column matching and confirm. Events, music plans and invoices stay in DJ Event Planner.
- 3Pick DJ during onboarding so the DJ pipeline, the Wedding DJ & MC Agreement and the Music Planning Questionnaire are installed, then add your packages and overtime rate to the price sheet.
- 4Point your website inquiry form at Booksui.
Importing
Any CSV of contacts imports through the generic path: upload, check the column matching, confirm. Names, email, phone, company, type, source and notes come across, and anyone already on file with the same email is skipped. Jobs, invoices and documents do not come across this way — write to us and we will help with the rest.
When DJ Event Planner is the better choice
If your clients already plan their music song by song in DJ Event Planner, or you run a multi-DJ company on its DJ-specific tools, that depth is built for your trade and Booksui does not match it today. Booksui suits a wedding DJ who wants the inquiry, contract and invoices done well, in a CRM the photographers, videographers and planners they work with use too.
Questions
- Can couples plan their music in Booksui?
- Yes, through the Music Planning Questionnaire installed for DJs: announcements and pronunciations, ceremony audio, entrances, formal dances, and the songs that matter and must not play. You read the answers in Booksui; there is no song-by-song request list.
- Is Booksui only for photographers?
- No. Booksui is built for wedding photographers, videographers, DJs and planners alike. A DJ account gets the DJ pipeline and its phase checklists, a DJ inquiry form, DJ email templates, and the DJ proposal, agreement and questionnaire.
- Can I import from DJ Event Planner?
- There is no dedicated DJ Event Planner import. Client contacts come across through the generic CSV path; events, music plans and invoices do not.
- Is there a free plan?
- Yes, no card required; limits are on the pricing page.
DJ Event Planner’s pricing and feature set are set by DJ Event Planner, change over time, and are worth checking on their own site — this page reflects Booksui’s own features accurately and describes DJ Event Planner in general, well-known terms rather than a line-by-line audit of their current product.
